Requirements

Primal Space recently created a WordPress driven website design for Childcare Connections. A registered Scottish charity providing after school clubs and holiday clubs for children in Edinburgh who’s parents are in work, education or training. The requirements outlined by the charity were to have a bright, engaging website design that could easily be navigated by parents. While also being a resource, with information on the various services that the charity offers.

To fulfil these requirements we opted to use bright images throughout the site, to create user engagement. As well as relevant call to actions, encouraging the user to get in touch via a contact form. The original logo for the charity was used while the branding also became the main colour scheme throughout the design. The client supplied all text content that we re-formatted into a simpler structure. Therefore, removing long passages of text, ensuring that the key points stand out and are easy to follow.

A large header image was used on the homepage with text overlapping to create internal linking structures. These can be found throughout the design allowing the user to navigate their way around the website with ease. Meanwhile, we also opted for a large footer section with click to call buttons. Giving the user the option to get in touch quickly and easily from a mobile device.

As always the website is fully optimised and responsive, to load seamlessly across all mobile devices and screen sizes. The client was delighted with the final outcome. This was a really rewarding project that we are pleased to have been involved with.
