A question we’re asked all the time is how to drive more traffic to your WordPress website. Although there is no quick fix or overnight solution to this.......
Way To Work Scotland are an online resource backed by Transport Scotland promoting sustainable, eco-friendly travel. They approached us earlier this year with a variety of website development requirements to improve their online presence.
We firstly began taking a copy of the current website on one of our servers creating a staging environment to develop on safely away from the live site. This included performing several plugin updates. As well as WordPress version updates, bringing the site up to date. Making it stable and secure to commence re-design concepts.
Next we created a child theme to develop on, reworking the existing website to offer a better user experience. Alongside this we improved the mobile layout, ensuring the website loaded as well as possible on all screen sizes and devices. As well as re-designing the header area and working through several bug fixes on the previous site version.
Later in the project we also provided the client with graphic design services for a new logo for the website. While carrying out some minor re-branding, bringing the website up to scratch with the new logo. Alongside this we ensured that the re-launched site was fully GDPR compliant, adhering to online security guidelines. As well as performing a security audit and applying WordPress best practices throughout.
One of the goals of the project was to improve Way to Work Scotland’s organic online presence. A website SEO audit and review was carried out for the client to improve the organic search rankings. Various components of WordPress training was also provided throughout the project. To ensure the best practices will be applied ongoing to the website. We’ll continue to support Way to Work Scotland ongoing in the future with any website maintenance requirements.
